Sophie Foran, LCSW

Psychotherapist
TX
The experience of grief can be overwhelming, isolating, and confusing. I work diligently to meet the specific and unique needs of each client in an environment that provides trust, compassion, and validation. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 15 years' experience in the mental health profession, working with adults, youth, families, and groups. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Texas State University. My professional work addresses the individual needs of those experiencing symptoms related to trauma, depression, and/or a recent life-threatening terminal illness diagnosis. Long-term experience within the hospice setting has allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the many layers of grief and the ability to recognize that the feeling of loss is not something that ends but is part of the transformative journey. I enjoy assisting families of aging family members to navigate this process. Other areas of professional experience and interest include dementia, stress management, substance abuse, and addiction.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Working together my goal is for each client to feel heard, supported and empowered in the change process towards their goals. I enjoy utilizing the strengths of the individual and mindfulness to set goals with conversation to gain a better understanding to help develop a stronger relationship with yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
