“Spenser is honestly amazing - she's so warm and genuine, and I immediately felt comfortable opening up to her about some really tough stuff. She has this way of making you feel completely heard and safe, even when you're talking about trauma or other heavy topics. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who actually gets it and genuinely cares.”

Getting to know Spenser Sussan

Grief changes everything. Whether you've lost a person, a relationship, a version of your life you thought you'd have, or a future you were counting on, even ordinary days can feel impossible. You might be functioning on the outside while falling apart on the inside, wondering when you'll feel like yourself again, or if you ever will. I specialize in grief and loss. That might mean death, divorce, or a major life transition. It might mean the slower grief of childhood wounds, or grieving a living parent, a relationship that has become painful or unrecognizable. If this resonates, you're welcome to reach out directly through my website at easierwiththerapy.com.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Sessions are 50 minutes and typically weekly, with the option to come more frequently if that feels right for you. I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments. My approach is depth-oriented and trauma-informed, meaning we don't just work on surface-level symptoms. We explore how your history, patterns, and relationships have shaped the way you move through the world. I draw on your inner strengths while also helping you understand the roots of what you're carrying. The goal isn't just to cope better, it's to know yourself more fully.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy with me is relational and client-led. We start by slowing down together, getting a sense of who you are, what's brought you in, and what you're hoping for. There's no rigid agenda or checklist. The relationship we build is part of the work. From there, the process unfolds at your pace. Some sessions will feel lighter, some will go to harder places. That's normal and expected. Over time, patterns tend to surface, and that's where real change happens. I'll follow your lead while also gently helping you notice what you might not be able to see on your own yet. Healing isn't linear, but you don't have to navigate it alone.

Spenser is an incredibly insightful therapist. She has a calm demeanor, which made me comfortable and able to access my feelings.
Spenser seriously is my favorite therapist I’ve had!! She has helped me realize things about my life that I had been avoiding without even realizing it. Our conversations feel effortless and I’ve felt like I could be myself from the very beginning. She’s warm, can keep up with my sense of humor, very quick and smart, and just overall has been so helpful
Spenser has created space for me to feel comfortable and truly supported. She’s warm and accommodating with my schedule and is helping me set goals to do the work. I’ve had a few therapists over the years but haven’t found the right fit until now.
Spenser creates a safe space for her clients to be able to learn and grow. Her approach allows clients to reflect and notice patters to better understand themselves. Spenser is the best!
My first visit was exceptional. Spenser was delightful, and insightful. She was able to discern what was troubling me, and helped me figure out a way to off forward. And, for that I am grateful.
Spenser is an incredibly thoughtful therapist. She has a wonderful disposition, takes the time to understand my issues and works to help develop a path forward
I absolutely love seeing Spenser; she makes me genuinely excited for therapy and motivated to work on myself which has been so hard the last few years. She is incredibly patient, insightful, and encouraging. I feel so seen and supported and like I'm finally able to make some progress.
