Getting to know Stacey Klein

I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York, New Jersey, and California. I provide virtual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I also work with healers, body workers, and people on a spiritual path. I offer a 20-minute free consultation so we can both get a sense of whether we would be a good fit. Once you book a session, I will call you for your free consultation. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, are in the midst of a difficult life transition, feel trapped in a high-stress job, or are in a challenging relationship, I can help you. Anxiety can show up in many forms including perfectionism, workaholism, OCD, unresolved trauma, people-pleasing, fighting with your partner, and parenting struggles with your children. In therapy with me, you will learn many tools and resources to help you transform your relationship to your anxiety. Some of the things we might work on together include helping you more deeply understand the dynamics of your relationships, building or adjusting your boundaries in relating to others at home and at work, softening your inner critic, and learning how to shift from states of reactivity and stress to states of reflection and calm. My clients tend to experience me as down to earth, warm, and easy to relate to. In addition to extensive traditional and holistic training, I use my intuition to guide us and view our connection as something very precious and sacred.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My loyalty in your therapy is to you and what emerges in the unique relationship we form together. Your therapy is not about trying to fit you into any kind of system or therapy model. In other words, I work flexibly, and I partner with you so that you feel met and understood which is the priority. Therapy is a unique and powerful path because the relationship is part of what enables you to feel better. Our connection will hopefully be one that you trust and as you trust more, it will enable you to test out new ways of being that you want to work on (e.g. practicing setting boundaries at work, being firmer with your children etc). I will encourage and welcome you to address any ruptures or misunderstandings that happen between us, so that when things don't feel good for you, you will feel heard. This will also assist you with relationships outside therapy and strengthen your ability to bring more of yourself into our connection and into your other relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session would consist of you letting me know how you're feeling and what you'd like to work on. Because I have seen that talk therapy isn't always enough to create lasting change, while I use talk therapy approaches to, I also use mindfulness, relational therapy and somatic therapy. Somatic psychotherapy works on the mind-body connection. The body is a key source of our intelligence, intuition and comfort so learning to tune into your sensations and feelings more will help you find more balance. Relational therapy helps you delve into patterns in your relationships and can include attachment patterns which is about how you attached to your early caregivers and how these patterns recur with partners and others. Working with mind AND body will offer you more tools in areas such as relaxation (if you work in a corporate environment), calming anxiety and having more mindful relationships. You're not expected to know how to work with mind/ body. I will guide you, if you are open to learning. I use breathing and grounding techniques and many other tools to help you learn how to find balance and comfort. A somatic approach can help you learn how to change a stress state to a calmer one so that you can develop a different relationship to the moment. As an example, if you tend to be very stressed at work and then you learn to tune into your body and how it feels when it's worked up and we experiment with different breathing exercises, the next moment will be calmer and very different for you and others around you. You will feel freer and you will experience yourself and others in a new way. I look forward to working with you!

Ive been with Stacey now for about 2 months on a weekly basis and I couldn't ask for more! I was skeptical about about contacting a therapist, but I am extremely thankful I chose her! My progress has been phenomenal in such a short period of time. Highly recommended!
Stacey is a wonderful therapist! I have worked with other therapists in the past, but none quite like her. She is excellent at maintaining healthy boundaries and always remembers the details you share. Stacey is also incredibly open to feedback. If something does not work, she is more than willing to adjust and try a different approach. What I appreciate most is that she does not focus on labeling or putting you into a box. Instead, she works with you to make life feel more manageable and meaningful. After each session, I leave feeling hopeful and energized. Stacey genuinely cares on a personal level. Even though I have only been seeing her for a few months, it is clear that she has my best interests at heart and never comes across as judgmental. Overall, it has been an incredibly positive experience!
Stacy has been an incredible support throughout my journey. She has always listened with genuine care and understanding, offering thoughtful feedback that truly resonated with me. Beyond just listening, she provided me with valuable strategies and practical techniques to manage my anxiety, many of which I continue to use daily. Thanks to Stacy, I have learned so much about how to calm and ground myself during difficult moments. I am truly grateful for everything she has taught me. Although I am sad that our time together has come to an end, I am filled with appreciation for the growth I have made and the stronger place I am in today because of her guidance.
Stacey is a wonderful therapist who truly sees me and has taken the time to understand me. She helps me slow down, connect to my body and get out of my head—something that’s made a meaningful difference in my life. As a therapist myself, I really value high quality care, and Stacey exceeds expectations.
I've been seeing Stacey for about six months now, and I can honestly say she's made a meaningful difference in my life. She truly listens and creates a space where I feel heard and understood. She has helped me work through some really difficult moments and has given me a much deeper understanding of myself. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is both skilled and truly invested in their well-being.
Stacey has been incredibly helpful to me as I’ve navigated severe anxiety and OCD throughout my pregnancy. It is clear that she adapts her therapeutic style to match her clients’ specific needs and I am very grateful for that. Through a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Talk Therapy, I have been able to work through a lot of challenges in a way that has felt manageable. I look forward to our weekly sessions and feel thankful that I will have access to Stacey during my vulnerable post-partum period coming up. I would highly recommend Stacey. It is clear she is a fantastic therapist for all stages of life!
Loved each and every session with Stacey so far. She really listens to you and tries to understand you, she helped me with my anxiety a lot. Because of her I was able to learn techniques on how to calm myself down and not let the anxiety take over. Because of those techniques I was able to get over my anxiety and fear of driving and get my license.
Compassionate, knowledgeable, open-minded, affirming, flexible, and culturally sensitive - Stacey is an excellent therapist! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a somatic-focused and highly empathetic approach to therapy.
I have seen several therapists over the years and none of them can compare to the experience I had with Stacey. Stacey provides a safe and nonjudgmental space. Her warmth is immediately felt. She listens attentively, truly wants to help, and does so with her specialized techniques. I highly recommend!
My wife and I have known Stacey for over four years. She has helped us navigate several hardships together. She is naturally empathetic, non-judgemental and easy to open up to like a close friend. She was patient with us, expertly guiding discussion, hearing both of us while thoughtfully responding with guidance to help us be closer, listen, and understand each other better. We are forever grateful and feel very lucky to have her in our lives. What has helped myself and our relationship most is Stacey's immediate awareness of my own past trauma and maladaptive coping mechanisms. Through individual work together, for the first time in my life I'm able to look past survival and work toward self actualization. Where other therapists have come up short, Stacey is committed to progress and I can not imagine better support. There is so much to say, but if you're looking for someone who understands and connects with a real desire to heal, Stacey is an excellent choice.
