“Stacey is a fantastic therapist. It was my first therapy experience, and she exceeded expectations. She is straightforward, comfortable, and gave poignant advice and insight. Stacey is very professional, but I could also be comfortable with her at the same time. She helped me process through some healthy issues that I was having over a few months, and immediately saw improvement after the first visit. Would highly recommend her. ”

“I was really nervous (and a little skeptical) about seeing a therapist, and the more I talk about it, the more I realize how lucky I was to have such a positive first experience. Stacey was relatable, put me at ease almost immediately, and seemed to know exactly what I was talking about when I was initially feeling self-conscious about it. I will definitely be seeing her again, and would highly recommend her to others. ”

Getting to know Stacey Stetson

Do you find yourself reacting to situations and then beating yourself up in your mind? Would you talk to a friend the way you talk to yourself? Are you aware of the negativity in your life but feel stuck in its grips? Is social media increasing your self-comparisons and lowering your self-compassion? Our attachments create suffering. When we gain awareness of our behaviors, thoughts, and feelings, we create space. That space becomes a choice point to make change. What daily practice works for you to maintain emotional regulation, connection to your inner stillness, and balance? These are things we can uncover together through the therapeutic relationship. The last few years have been challenging and uprooting for all of us. Maybe you had to move, lost a loved one, changed jobs or relationship status, fought the pandemic on the front lines, or finally did some self-reflection. These past few years have brought so much change, turmoil, and chronic stress. This impacts our well-being, mind, and all our senses. The trauma is the feelings left behind, not the fixed event in time (Gabor Maté, *The Myth of Normal*, 2022). Our body is an amazing vessel directly affected by our mind as much as life interrupters. When one integral of our life equation transitions, the others are directly influenced. Without awareness of how those changes influence our lives, we can create negative habit loops like worry and tension. Through the therapeutic relationship and the weekly practice of just showing up with willingness, we can gain awareness of the reactions, behaviors, beliefs, and needs that life gives us all. Therapy is a supportive relationship with a trusted and educated clinician who will act as your partner on your life journey. I hold a Master's in Social Work from New York University and am committed to helping you set goals and learn personalized therapeutic skills to create space between feelings and reactions.
