“My experience with therapy has been nothing short of transformative. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed, heard, and respected. The sessions were structured in a way that balanced professionalism with genuine compassion, creating a safe space to express my thoughts and emotions. What stood out the most was the therapist’s ability to listen attentively and guide me toward understanding myself on a deeper level. Each session felt purposeful with clear takeaways I could apply in my everyday life. I appreciated the patience, empathy, and consistency shown throughout, it helped me feel supported while also being challenged. Because of this, I gained healthier coping skills, more confidence and a greater sense of peace within myself. I can genuinely say I feel more self aware, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges. I highly recommend this therapist to anyone seeking not just support, but real tools for personal growth and long term healing. Truly an excellent experience. ”

Getting to know Starrkisha Asberry

I work with individuals and couples who manage responsibilities well on the outside, yet quietly carry stress, emotional fatigue, or a sense of disconnection on the inside. Many of the people I support are capable, driven, and outwardly “doing fine,” but internally feel overwhelmed, unfulfilled, or stuck on autopilot. With over six years of experience in the mental health field and as a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia, I provide a space where you do not have to perform, explain, or hold it all together. Therapy with me is intentional, affirming, and grounded in helping you slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself in a meaningful way. My practice is nonjudgmental, BIPOC-centered, and LGBTQIA-affirming, allowing you to show up as you are—without masks. I am here to help individuals who are looking to become the person they want to become by exploring meaning, purpose, and alignment. Our work focuses on understanding patterns, addressing emotional exhaustion, and creating a life that feels intentional rather than reactive. Therapy is not about fixing what is broken; it is about gaining clarity, restoring balance, and giving yourself permission to grow. For couples, I focus on helping partners move beyond surface-level communication toward deeper understanding, trust, and emotional connection. Together, we work to untangle patterns that create distance and build healthier ways of relating to one another. This work is about presence, direction, and quality of life, so you are no longer just getting through the days, but living them with intention.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I offer in person and Virtual visits. In-person sessions offered on Friday. From students to high-achieving professionals, many look accomplished on the outside—yet inside, stress, burnout, anxiety, trauma, or imposter syndrome quietly take their toll. For couples, constant conflict or silent distance can leave even strong relationships feeling fragile. And for many, depression shows up as heaviness, flatness, or loss of meaning. This is where therapy with me makes the difference. I work with individuals and couples to help you drop the mask, calm self-doubt, and manage pressure without losing your drive—or your connection to others. Using evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy, I’ll help you: Challenge the thoughts that fuel stress and anxiety. Rebuild trust, communication, and connection in relationships. Regulate emotions, restore balance, and rediscover purpose. This is your safe space to heal—and to thrive. Let’s build resilience, confidence, and peace that lasts. Therapy isn’t about weakness; it’s about choosing strength. And today, that choice is yours.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first step is a consultation—because the right fit matters. A strong connection between client and therapist creates trust, safety, and results. From there, we’ll identify your most pressing challenges and design a clear plan forward. Therapy combines supportive conversation with practical tools and homework tailored to your needs. My goal is simple: to give you a framework that turns insight into real change. Together, we’ll move past what holds you back and build the balance, resilience, and confidence you deserve.
