What should a new client know about working with you?

DISCLAIMER: not accepting Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time. My path to becoming a therapist began one week into college, when I decided to switch my major from studio art to psychology. The motivation to make this drastic change and give psychology a try came from my own intuition and feeling like I had natural qualities of empathy and introspection. This journey of self-discovery deepened my commitment to helping patients identify what a life worth living and feeling of purpose looks like for them. My journey led me to work in a community agency as a therapist, where I found that my patients’ demographics were very different from one another and, as such, deserved their own unique approaches and integrated mix of interventions. Now, I am passionate about bringing that same energy to my practice at SOL Mental Health!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The therapeutic alliance between therapist and patient is the most important part of therapy, and I am passionate about building that foundation of trust with you. In our time together, you can expect an empowering, non-judgmental environment with a little sense of humor sprinkled in. I use a warm, welcoming, and person-centered approach to meet you where you’re at in your healing journey, allowing me to tailor my style and interventions to your therapeutic goals and needs. These interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, and more structured approaches to best help you meet your therapeutic goals.
