Getting to know Stephanie Gerard

Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience in the counseling field. I have been licensed in Florida for the last 11 years. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from Webster University and specialty certifications in trauma and substance abuse. I enjoy working with a diverse population of patients and am also a board-approved supervisor for registered mental health counselor interns. I have served a wide and diverse client base with various treatment concerns, including anxiety, depression/mood disorders, traumatic experiences, domestic violence, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, parenting challenges, and life coaching. My counseling style is non-judgmental and supportive. I believe everyone has intrinsic value and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I strive to support each client in pursuing their identified goals and to empower them to live the life they envision for themselves.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to provide practical tools that assist in creating short term relief from your most prominent symptoms while we work towards discovering the causal factors for what you're experiencing. My hope is that you leave our sessions feeling better than when you arrived, and with something to reflect on until our next meeting.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I feel like I can talk to Stephanie Gerard about anything and that helps me open up more so we can start the healing.
I enjoy every session with Stephanie. I like that she provides me with reading material that supports theory.
Great person to talk to. Helps so much by listening and giving you tools to help cope with emotions.
Truly helps me each session and doesn’t make this work.

Stephanie is very realistic in her feedback to the many things that I talk with her about. She is very knowledgeable about the various medical/pain issues that I am going through. When she explained how in much effort I put into dealing with my pain and medical issues and how much frustration I go through, the reality is its hard to handle other life/social issues because of it, I was honestly flabbergasted. I was able to recognize why I have and was having so many issues with dealing with my roommate and living situation because I am so spent sometimes dealing with Docters and pain most of the time. I just cant begin to say how thankful I am to have her as my therapist.
Results focused
Extremely educated in various areas and able to help me with many issues. Very warm and caring. Genuinely cares about my overall well-being. Highly intelligent in her field.
Stephanie is an absolute gem of a human being and an incredible therapist. She's got a warm personality and is very solution oriented to helping to get relief to the issues troubling you. I have been seeing her for a little over two years and can't imagine working with anyone else.
