Getting to know Stephanie Keeshin

Stephanie believes that therapy doesn't have to be only for those in crisis. Seeking counseling can be difficult but is one of the best decisions a person can make. She uses an integrative approach tailored to each client's individual needs, incorporating psychodynamic, relational, and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients gain awareness of their struggles and learn new coping strategies to effectively manage whatever life brings. By exploring both the “why” and the “what” of one's life experiences, Stephanie focuses on utilizing clients' strengths to find solutions. Through empowerment, warmth, and a strong therapeutic alliance, she emphasizes the importance of creating a safe space where clients can improve their overall well-being. Stephanie holds a Master's degree in Counseling from Northwestern University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health with minors in Psychology and Nutritional Science from Indiana University in 2016. Her previous experience includes working as a counselor at a residential facility for adolescents with eating disorders for four years before graduate school, as well as working with teens and adults in a private practice during her graduate internship. Stephanie's interests include eating disorders, anxiety, OCD, relational issues, mood disorders, and navigating life transitions.
