Getting to know Stephanie Lamancusa

The provider is a “Licensed Social Worker" and is currently working under the supervision of a licensed practitioner. Their current employer is Monarch Counseling Center. My name is Stephanie Lamancusa. I am currently licensed as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and then pursued a Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. I began my career in co-occurring outpatient substance abuse and mental health counseling, transitioned to in-community crisis intervention and counseling services for children, adolescents, and adults, and am now working in opioid outpatient substance abuse treatment. I also provide general mental health therapy in outpatient and private settings.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach as a therapist is to provide a stigma free, safe space to process whatever hardships are currently on the table, while emphasizing strengths and achievements along the journey of recovery and personal growth. I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and change, and that therapy can help unlock that potential. I provide a safe and supportive environment where my clients can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment.
