“Let me start with this: working through something is incredibly challenging...but having someone in your corner, definitely lightens the load! Therapy was a whole new world for me - intimidating and foreign, but I was in a tough spot and needed support, and Stephanie has been there every step of the way, guiding me to help myself. She's patient empathetic, and truly committed. I recommend you book her!”

“Stephanie's been a solid support for me. It's not always easy to open up, but she makes the conversation feel normal, not so clinical. Good at what she does and keeps it real, which I appreciate. Definitely recommend her if you're looking for straightforward help.”

Getting to know Stephanie Lopez

My intention for therapy is to bring a warm process approach to healing that is rooted in compassion, intuition, and connecting with others. I believe the client is the expert on their life, and I work collaboratively with them to navigate their areas of concern while empowering them with tools to utilize in their therapeutic journey and beyond. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. I have experience working with clients presenting with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, family conflicts, trauma/PTSD, borderline personality disorder, life transitions, women’s issues, interpersonal and relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and generational trauma. My therapeutic framework combines a client-centered and psychodynamic approach with cognitive-behavioral, internal family systems, strengths-based, play, and art therapy. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, culturally responsive, and welcome clients from all identities, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences. In my spare time, I enjoy quality time with loved ones, traveling, trying new things, spending time in nature or near water, playing Mario Kart, and supporting the arts.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Understanding that therapy can be new to some or come at different life checkpoints for others, I believe in meeting clients where they are each time they enter the room. My aim in treatment is to listen to clients' needs, explore their life experiences and perspectives, and help them achieve the personal growth and change they desire in their lives.
