As a 10-year veteran and former Law Liaison with the Arlington Police Department, Stephanie is uniquely familiar with the stress and trauma first responders and veterans encounter. Additionally, Stephanie has worked as a Victim Advocate for the United States Air Force for over 8 years helping survivors of military sexual trauma to recovery and find their voice. She has facilitated groups for survivors of sexual trauma, young adults working to find purpose and connection, substance abuse recovery, veterans and first responders, survivors of domestic violence, and sex offender treatment groups. She is well versed in diagnostic criteria, evaluation, and program development. Academics and Research: Academically, Stephanie has conducted various trainings for law enforcement agencies, military personnel, and mental health providers to increase understanding and acceptance of mental health concerns and to improve access to resources and support. Her areas of research interest include qualitative and quantitative work with first responders, veterans, sexual trauma survivors, and those with complex trauma to identify and advance alternative and holistic forms of treatment and healing.
