Stephanie Newman, LPC Associate

Psychotherapist
17177 Preston Rd, Ste 140, Dallas, TX
The provider is supervised by Patricia Boylen. Hi there. I am glad you are here! Sometimes life's weight can leave you unsure of your next step. The experiences that formed you, the joys and the hurts alike, quietly influence how you connect with the world and with yourself. Whether you're sitting in a therapist's office for the first time or returning after some time away, I'm here to offer a gentle and collaborative space where you can begin to rediscover who you are and who you want to be. My path to counseling was shaped by years of working closely with people. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas, I spent five meaningful years as an elementary school teacher, where I had the privilege of working alongside children from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. That experience deepened my understanding of human connection and ultimately drew me toward a deeper calling. I went on to earn my Master of Science in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman's University, and have since gained hands-on clinical experience in both individual and group therapy within an adult treatment center focused on addiction recovery.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our sessions, you are free to explore, to grow, and to simply be yourself. Whether you're searching for relief from what weighs on you, seeking clarity in the midst of confusion, or longing for a deeper understanding of who you are, I would be honored to walk that path beside you. At the heart of my therapeutic lens is a deep commitment to meeting you exactly where you are. My approach is warm, empathetic, and entirely centered around you, your pace, your needs, your story. One of my greatest passions is guiding individuals of all ages toward reconnecting with their younger self. Together, we can gently explore what your inner child longed for and offer those younger parts of yourself the care and nurturing they always deserved. My work is rooted in relational and humanistic principles. I believe that healing happens within reparative emotional experiences. I'm committed to creating a space, free of judgment, where you feel curious and safe to explore past experiences. Together, we'll work collaboratively to help you reconnect with your own inner strengths and move toward the kind of lasting, meaningful change that feels true to who you are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you step into a session with me, you can expect to be met with warmth, openness, and a space where there is room for all of you. Our time together is dedicated to helping you explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with the aim of gaining clarity and moving toward the changes that matter most to you. In our first few sessions, we'll focus on building a foundation of trust and getting to know one another. I'll invite you to share what's brought you here, what you've carried, and what you're hoping to find. There's no script or timeline. You share what feels comfortable and move forward at a pace that feels right for you. From there, we'll typically meet weekly to offer you a consistent and steady source of support as you navigate life's challenges. Each session is designed to leave you with something meaningful, a fresh perspective, a deeper knowing of yourself, or a practical tool to carry into your everyday life. Through it all, we move at your pace, and I remain by your side every step of the way.
