Getting to know Stephanie Olvera

Whether you are trying to manage life changes, relationship conflict, or a mood disorder I want to welcome you to discover a balanced approach to mental wellness. My goal is to guide you on a journey toward self-love and lasting change, helping you achieve the wisdom and clarity you've been seeking. I integrate research-based models of therapy including cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. As a marriage and family therapist I bring a systemic lens into the therapy room and tackle problems arising not within the individual but rather within their wider life: their family and friends, work, and in the social context. This could look like discussing how you are affected by the political climate, how you think you fit in at work or within your friend group, or even unraveling generational trauma. Rather than looking at the individual as the problem we will take a look at how your existence in this world makes you feel and work on improving the most important relationship, the relationship to yourself. Therapy can take a variety of expressive forms but the client's preference for certain interventions is always honored.
