Psychotherapist
NY
Looking for a therapist who’s real, not robotic? I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience working with kids, teens, young adults, parents/guardians and families. My style is direct, compassionate, non-judgmental, and (when appropriate) infused with humor because therapy should feel human, not like an interview. Before I became a therapist, I was a client. My own experience in therapy was life-changing and ultimately inspired me to enter this field. I know how hard it can be to take that first step, and I work to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly heard. As a parent myself, I approach my work with a level of care and intention I’d want for my own children. Whether I’m supporting a young person through a tough time or helping families reconnect, I aim to provide the kind of therapy that’s both effective and deeply respectful. I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT-informed strategies, Motivational Interviewing, and PCIT-informed work. I’m also solution-focused and strength-based we’ll focus on what’s going right, build skills where they’re needed, and move toward lasting change. With 8 years of experience supervising clinicians in a busy outpatient clinic, I bring both clinical depth and a practical understanding of what actually helps. If you’re looking for therapy that’s collaborative, supportive, and real, I’m here.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I see therapy as a partnership. You’re in the driver’s seat, this is your journey, your life, your story. I’m in the passenger seat with the map, helping you navigate, offering guidance, insight, and tools to help you get where you want to go. I don’t take over the wheel, but I’ll be right there with you for the turns, roadblocks, and breakthroughs. I believe the best therapeutic relationships are built on honesty, trust, and collaboration. I’ll show up as a real person in the room; compassionate, curious, and direct, so you can feel safe being your real self too. Therapy with me is an open space to explore what’s going on without judgment, and to work toward meaningful, lasting change in a way that feels manageable and empowering.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Clients who work with me can expect to walk away from sessions with more than just insight, they’ll gain real, practical skills they can apply in everyday situations. Whether it's tools for managing anxiety, improving communication, setting healthy boundaries, or navigating tough emotions, my goal is to make therapy useful outside the session, not just in it. Clients often tell me they feel heard, validated, and understood, but they also appreciate that I don’t shy away from gently challenging thought patterns or behaviors that may be holding them back. I aim to create a space where you feel both supported and empowered—where we can laugh, be honest, and work together toward meaningful change.
