Life can become overwhelming in ways we never expected. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, a difficult life transition, or simply feeling stuck, seeking counseling is a meaningful step toward understanding yourself and creating lasting change. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where clients can slow down, make sense of their experiences, and develop practical tools for moving forward. My work is informed by attachment science, developmental trauma, and the belief that greater self-awareness creates the foundation for healing, resilience, and healthier relationships. I believe therapy is an opportunity to better understand who you are, how your experiences have shaped you, and the beliefs and patterns that influence the way you live, relate, and make meaning of your life. My goal is to help clients cultivate greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of clarity as they move toward a more authentic and fulfilling life.

Getting to know Stephanie Schwab Ulfig

Life can become overwhelming in ways we never expected.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I believe that meaningful change begins with understanding not judgment. Together, we'll explore the experiences, patterns, and beliefs that may be influencing how you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others. While gaining insight is an important part of the process, therapy is also practical. We'll work together to develop skills you can use in everyday life so you leave each session with greater clarity, confidence, and direction.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another. I'll ask questions about what brings you to counseling, your current concerns, and the experiences that have shaped your life. Just as importantly, I'll want to understand your strengths, your goals, and what you hope to gain from therapy. From there, we work together at a pace that feels comfortable. As therapy progresses, we'll deepen your understanding of yourself while building practical strategies that support lasting growth and meaningful change. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward the life and relationships you want.
