What should a new client know about working with you?

As your therapist, my role is to provide a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I’m here to guide, support, and sometimes challenge you, but not to “fix” you—healing and growth come from the work we do together. Therapy is a collaborative process, and progress often takes time. It isn’t always a straight line—some sessions may feel lighter while others bring up more difficult emotions—but both are an important part of the journey. Your openness, honesty, and willingness to practice skills or reflect between sessions are key ingredients in creating lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process starts with really getting to know you—what brings you in, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important right now. In our first session, I’ll ask questions to understand your background and goals, and we’ll set a direction together, knowing it can evolve as your needs change. From there, a typical session usually involves a mix of talking through what’s on your mind, reflecting on patterns or experiences, and practicing tools or strategies you can use outside of therapy. Some sessions may feel lighter, while others may bring up more challenging emotions, but both are valuable parts of the process. I’ll check in with you regularly to make sure therapy feels supportive and aligned with your goals.
