Getting to know Stephanie Smigiel
Everyone has a story to be told. I am here to sit beside you as we write it together. In the darkest, uncertain, up-and-down times, I will be your cheerleader, supporter, guide, and motivation. I believe everyone is capable of achieving their goals and dreams. I help individuals with autism spectrum disorder who struggle with disruptive and repetitive behaviors, social skills, transitions, and living independently. I also work with individuals who have experienced trauma during their lifetime, children with disruptive and non-compliant behaviors, and those experiencing anxiety in daily living.
I am grounded in humanistic therapy, which means seeing the person first, then drawing from other approaches as needed. I have worked extensively with individuals who have experienced trauma and am trained in EMDR for those with PTSD or complex trauma. Additionally, I provide family therapy through Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
I hold a Master's in Counseling from Waynesburg University, a PhD from Robert Morris University, and a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
