New York state licensed therapist Stephanie Staco received their Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Adelphi University. They have since worked in a variety of settings, including correctional facilities, court systems, schools, and community mental health. Their therapeutic approach draws mainly from the psychodynamic method, incorporating some aspects of DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Stephanie prides themself on being neurodivergent-affirming, sex-positive, and culturally competent with all of their clients, and is always open to feedback on how our sessions can be more beneficial to you. They have first-hand experience as a member of the neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, and kink communities and thus have a unique ability to provide insight and support to other members of those communities. Stephanie was inspired to become a therapist because of their own experiences with mental health counseling and a desire to help those in marginalized communities and those with diagnoses that are still heavily stigmatized.
