Getting to know Stephen Ronda

Stephen Ronda has over 10 years of experience helping clients manage their depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use issues. He holds a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Mercy College. Stephen tailors an eclectic approach to your individual needs, blending motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, and other techniques. He also offers cannabis-assisted therapy to qualified medical marijuana patients. Stephen is licensed in both New York and New Jersey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use an integrative approach to therapy. I am trained in motivational interviewing, which will help drive our discussions and draw out your best self. With me, you'll learn skills and techniques you can keep forever. I'll walk with you through your issues and share your burdens. For clients seeking transpersonal approaches to elevate their life, I can guide you on that journey through cannabis-assisted psychotherapy as an option. Ask me if you qualify at our consultation.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I'll try to get a big picture of what is going on. We'll discuss findings, review what you're looking for, and even set some goals for future sessions. You'll have all the time you need to ask whatever questions you have. Therapy is collaborative and I want you to know I am always listening to what you have to say. Let's work together!

Initial session: $150 for 45 minutes
Ongoing session: $100-115 for 45 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront
