Getting to know Stephen Salzman

I am a person-centered therapist who listens and reflects client's shared experiences to provide them with deeper understanding of the themes and patterns in their lives. I use Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused approaches help each client to identify their needs and preferred outcomes. We will often use Narrative themes and imagery to deepen an individual's vision of what their preferred life might look and feel like and to increase commitment to the steps needed to achieve them.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have studied and explored variety of therapeutic styles and approaches utilized skills from many of them. I have found that my client's get the most out of time when they are sharing and I am there beside them, partially as a guide but mostly as an empathic companion who can understand their experiences, their needs and their personal goals.
