Steve Vigilante, LPCC

Steve Vigilante, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
I started my professional life in advertising, earning my Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. I understand what it is like to work in an environment that demands long hours, meeting deadlines, and uncompromising excellence. I decided to make a change because I was not fulfilled and wanted the opportunity to make a positive impact in a different way. I went back to school and earned my Master of Science in Counseling from the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University. Since beginning my work in mental health, I have had the opportunity to work with people of all ages in many different settings. I have worked in hospitals, clinics, and community settings, serving both as a clinician and as a director. My focus is on helping individuals, couples, and families with depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, abuse, crisis, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, and work-related challenges. I am grateful to continue this work in private practice. A little bit about me: I have been an athlete since age 5, continuing through all four years of Division I athletics, and I stay active in various ways. I have even completed multiple endurance events. I also enjoy reading a wide variety of books—from classics to fantasy and non-fiction. I mention this because I understand how great it can feel to accomplish something, but also know what it is like to struggle and fall short. Working together, we can develop a pragmatic approach to addressing your concerns—and have a little fun along the way.
