Getting to know Steven Berman

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) in the State of Michigan. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. As a therapist, my goal is to assist my clients in working through issues that negatively affect their daily lives. I use integrative approaches to therapy, including mindfulness and relaxation techniques. As both a salutogenic psychotherapist and a neurotherapist, I understand that the source of complex PTSD lies in past experiences and the need for reconciliation. Therefore, clients are offered a variety of curative therapies. The success rate of salutogenic trauma-informed therapy is over 90%, compared to the 20-30% efficacy of conventional CBT therapy. The success of therapy is fundamentally based on the therapeutic relationship built between client and therapist; therefore, I am here to support, empower, and work with you.
