Steven Berman, LPC

Psychotherapist
MI
Hi there, I'm Steven! I am a psychotherapist and behavioral scientist with a myriad of curative therapies to offer. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), I aim to assist my clients in working through issues that negatively affect their daily lives. I earned my Master's in Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. My approach I use integrative approaches to therapy (i.e., Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Exposure Therapy, CBT, CPT, Operant Behavioral Therapy, along with tools like mindfulness, Progressive Relaxation, TRE, Thought Field Therapy, etc.). I am here to support, empower, and work with you. My focus I work with all segments of the population: men, women, adolescents, geriatrics, LGBTQIA+, couples, et al. My communication style Sessions are conducted either via tele-streaming or phone (when necessary). The tone is relationship-building, psychoeducational, and then evidence-based therapies to reconcile any issues present. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist a dozen years ago after I resolved my own issues. In other words, what worked for me should work for you as well. Prior to that, I spent over thirty-five years as an organizational consultant for seven of the ten largest consulting firms in the country. My goals for you As a former engineer, I am goal- and process-oriented. My goal is to become the "best friend money can buy"-hahaha!! My first session with you The first session is an intake. Here we get to know one another and begin to establish the all-important therapeutic relationship. We then quickly move into psychoeducation so that by the third session, we begin the curative therapies.
