Steven Buck, LCSW

Steven Buck, LCSW

Psychotherapist
MO
My name is Steven W Buck and I am licensed as an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). I am married with 3 grown children and 2 grand daughters. I have been counseling individuals, couples and families for over 30 years. I think of myself as a CBT (Cognitive, Behavioral Therapist). I received my Masters Degree in 1984 with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. I worked for a psychiatric hospital for almost 15 years, various mental health agencies and counseling agencies as well as working with the Juvenile Justice System treating adolescents with legal concerns. As a result of working with the medical community, psychiatrists, I have seen the benefits of medications, particularly anti-depressants and mood stabilizers. I utilize systems thinking which focuses on structure, boundaries and communication within a family or system. Since I am presented with "problems," I equally begin considering potential "solutions" with my clients to hopefully provide some measure of relief and a sense of progress. I tend to be very positive and optimistic in my thinking and try to offer all of my clients a sense of encouragement.
