Getting to know Steven Patrick

Greetings, thank you for taking the time to read more about the work I enjoy so much! As a clinician my first goal is to explore how I can assist others in the process of healing. What I mean by that is that I engage the process of counseling as a way to help people reduce their suffering in a manner that helps to develop the skills and qualities that supports them to have their most authentic life. I appreciate that many people come to counseling to reduce some level of hurt, and my goal is to explore how a person can be the most comfortable version of themselves possible, with as little suffering as possible. I have more than 25 years experience as a professional helper and academically hold a Bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in psychology. Additionally I hold a Master's degree in criminal justice with a focus on treating addictive disorders, as well as a Masters of counseling. My Doctorate is in counselor education and supervision, and I was privileged enough to obtain these degrees at some amazing colleges. Within my experiences I have become an expert in working with forensic populations and criminal justice systems. In addition to my license to practice mental health counseling, I have extensive training and experience in the areas of Autism Spectrum, Trauma, and Compulsive/Problematic sexual behavior. At a personal level, I live with my best friend and life partner, as well as many furry friends, on a small farm where we are looking to develop and cultivate ways of living that allow us to experience this life with the smallest level of footprint possible. This is a work in progress.
