-Collaborative Process: Therapy is a partnership. We will work together to explore your concerns and develop strategies that work for you.
Therapy Style
-Integrative: I draw from various therapeutic approaches to tailor our sessions to your unique situation. These may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and psychodynamic therapy.
–Strengths-Based: I focus on your strengths and resilience, helping you build on these to overcome challenges.
-Goal-Oriented: We will set clear, achievable goals to track your progress and celebrate your successes.
Session Structure
-Confidentiality: Your privacy is paramount. Everything we discuss in our sessions remains confidential, within the limits of the law.
-Session Length: Typically, sessions are 50-55 minutes long. However, we can adjust this based on your needs.
-Regular Feedback: I encourage ongoing feedback to ensure our sessions are effective and meet your expectations.

-Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself as you embark on this journey. Healing and growth can be challenging but rewarding.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Initial Contact and Intake
-First Contact: Typically, this is through a phone call or email. We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, any immediate concerns, and schedule an initial session.
-Intake Session: The first session is an in-depth intake, lasting about 60-75 minutes. During this time, we will discuss your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This session helps me understand your background and what you hope to achieve.
Assessment and Goal Setting
-Assessment: Over the next few sessions, I will conduct a thorough assessment. This may involve discussing your personal history, relationships, mental health symptoms, and any relevant medical information.
-Goal Setting: Based on the assessment, we will collaboratively set specific, measurable goals for your therapy. These goals will guide our work together and provide a benchmark for measuring progress.
Therapeutic Plan
-Creating a Plan: I will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs. This plan will outline the therapeutic approaches we will use, the frequency of sessions, and any additional resources or exercises that may be helpful.
Ongoing Sessions
-Regular Sessions: Sessions are usually 50 minutes long and held weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your needs and availability. During these sessions, we will work on the issues discussed in the intake and assessment phases.
Therapeutic Techniques: I use a variety of therapeutic techniques depending on your needs, including:
-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): To help you identify and change negative thought patterns.
-Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: To help you manage stress and increase self-awareness.
-Psychodynamic Therapy: To explore how past experiences influence your current behavior and emotions.
-Solution-Focused Therapy: To help you develop practical solutions to current problems.

If I could highlight, Steven‘s superpowers, some of them would be: active listening, demonstration of this active listening, shame free spaces of acceptance and guidance to reframe for better outcomes.
Steven tunes in when I speak. He repeats back in his own words for confirmation of his understanding - he brings up pieces of conversation in later sessions but also remembers important details like birthdays. Steven.
He and I meet weekly on Mondays, and it’s an excellent start to my week. I look forward to our hour together. I feel energized, uplifted, and like the picture I have for my life is clearer. I am growing more deeply aware of myself, my struggles, the stories I tell myself, the goals I want to set for myself and my life through his guidance.
Something that I also personally enjoy is that Steven is a human first, therapist second. He understands how essential it is to appropriately bring in elements of his own lived experience to show evidence of shared understanding.

As someone who has been to several different therapists throughout my life, Steven is simply the best. He is warm, approachable and takes the time to actually understand me. In addition to helping me to learn more about myself, he explains the concepts in easy to understand language and uses analogies to make the session easy. I’ve undergone more personal growth under his tutelage than I believed was previously possible. I am proud of the work we’ve done together. If you’re looking for a therapist who will take up a genuine interest in you, listens to understand and is invested in your mental and physical well-being, I would highly recommend Steven.
