Psychotherapist

Hi there, I'm Steven! My name is Steven Taylor, and I am a Christian Counselor with a Master’s in Counseling from Webster University. I have been practicing as a therapist for 10 years. My approach to therapy is simple: I want to get to know you and help you with whatever problem you are facing. I enjoy working with all types of issues, including trauma, self-harm, addiction, marital and family concerns, and many others. My approach I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, as well as other therapeutic methods tailored to your needs. My focus Over the years, I have worked mostly with women, but I am comfortable working with anyone. I have experience in residential and community settings, helping with a wide range of issues. I am willing to talk about whatever you might be struggling with. I have extensive experience working with trauma, grief, self-harm, depression, addiction, and more. My communication style I want my clients to feel heard and understood—validated. The space I create is one of acceptance and support, not judgment. I want you to feel free to talk about whatever is on your mind and trust that my goal is to help you. My journey to mental healthcare I feel called to be a therapist; it’s who I was meant to be from a young age. People have always felt comfortable coming to me with their problems, and I have always cared deeply about helping them. I truly want to ease the burdens people carry. One moment that confirmed this path for me was during a church service when a video was shown about a counselor who built an inner-city rec center for youth and provided free therapy. That became a dream of mine—to help others in any way I can. My goals for you In the first session, I talk with you about what you want to get out of therapy and how we can work together to achieve that.
