Steven Ward, LPC

Psychotherapist
MI
My name is Steven Ward, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been a therapist for over 10 years and have participated in therapy intermittently for 30 years. I believe in therapy and its ability to help others become their best selves. From the first time therapy made a significant difference in my life, I knew I wanted to devote my life, time, and energy to serving and helping others by becoming a therapist. I earned my undergraduate degree in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University and used this foundation to complete my Master’s in Counseling, also from Spring Arbor University. I have worked with adults at all stages of life, and with more than a decade of experience, I have learned strong, evidence-based treatments that offer concrete help. I engage with the real struggles individuals face, including trauma, depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, parenting difficulties, family conflicts, marital issues, and challenges related to substance use and addiction. My therapeutic approach is multidisciplinary and includes not only technique work but also cognitive, narrative, and game-based therapy interventions. My style focuses on creating relationships grounded in trust, kindness, and mutual learning. I believe that as a therapist, I have just as much to learn from you, the client, as you do from me. This approach fosters an environment where compassion, mutual learning, and a strong focus on each client’s desires for themselves and their life are key. Together, we can create change that feels graceful and collaborative rather than burdensome or boring. I have faith in the therapeutic process and will bring my considerable knowledge, talents, and compassion to help you become the best self you desire to be.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
