Sue Ann treats patients starting 14 years old. Sue Ann earned her Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Sociology from the University of Mississippi and her Master of Social Work Degree (MSW) from the University of Alabama, with a concentration in geriatric and elderly issues. Sue Ann has provided critical incident stress management (individual and group therapy) as a certified crisis intervention specialist since 2003. Sue Ann has over twenty years of clinical experience working with clients of all ages, with the goal of helping clients better their lives by making sense of life stressors through personal growth and gaining new perspectives. Each person is unique, thereby bringing unique and individual strengths and insights into the therapeutic relationship. Sue Ann utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, focusing on the client and the client/therapist relationship. A key aspect of therapy is providing the client with a safe and non-judgmental environment in which to grow. Sue Ann and her husband of 40+ years have three grown sons and a six-year old Boxer “baby.” They have called NC “home” since moving to the area in 2015 from Alabama. Sue Ann volunteers with two local animal rescue groups; and can be seen and heard rooting for her favorite college and professional football teams on the weekend. Roll Tide!
