Psychotherapist
NY
I am a Therapist at Wellness Counseling Services, LCSW, PLLC. Before earning my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Hunter College, I had the privilege of working with young adults in various countries to help them achieve their self-directed goals-such as English learning, child-parent mediation, and career planning. These experiences taught me that there is a gem in every person. Some of us may not have found that gem yet, but while it may not be visible at first glance, let's look for it, shape it, and polish it together to help you achieve the most valuable life possible. "Finally, one who listens!" "I see why I was referred to you." These are direct quotes from my clients during some of my proudest counseling moments. My client-directed CBT approach has helped them realize that their end goals were achievable all along. Being raised with a Christian background also helps me appreciate the therapeutic value of prayer and meditation for clients dealing with depression or anxiety. We'll take the time to understand the nature of your concerns, explore what has helped or not, and move forward at a pace you can manage.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As you tell me about yourself, I will listen for how the little habits and seemingly insignificant thoughts may have a monumental effect on your overall thinking. As we work towards your goals, I'll suggest interesting ways to reframe your perspectives to make the journey a bit more tolerable for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once booked, you will receive two emails from Wellness Counseling Services, LCSW, PLLC one through our online platform, SimplePractice inviting you to our client portal. There you will complete all necessary consents for treatment, your demographic information, and your personalized intake questionnaire to initiate the intake process. Please complete and submit all necessary documentation at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time to allow the clinician to review your reasons for entering into therapy at this time and to complete your two initial intake sessions the first time that you meet. You will also receive an introductory email from your therapist with our Welcome Letter attached and our administrative team will be copied on the email for your reference. Please try to complete all documents and information before your initial session with our clinicians. Should you have any trouble doing so, you may log on to your booked appointment through the SimplePractice Portal or give the mainline a call and we will have the therapist will help you through the initial process during that scheduled appointment. The two sequential appointments after will then be used to completed your initial intake assessment. We look forward to working with you!
