Getting to know Sukura Webster
Hi there, I'm Sukura!
Hi I am SuKura Webster. I am a CMHC in New Hampshire and an LPC in Texas. My goal is to empower and encourage my clients to embrace themselves completely. My areas of focus include helping people overcome childhood trauma, sexual/emotional abuse and life transitions.
My approach
I take on a more client/person- centered role. I believe that you are the expert and I am here on your healing journey providing whatever you need. I will also pull from other theories as needed DBT, strength-based, solution-focused.
My focus
The clients I tend to work with are teens, couples and adults who are looking to a change. Whether it is transitioning from high school to college, a new career, losing a love one or even those who are stuck with symptoms of their trauma and wanting to break free.
My communication style
In the room, you get to decide how sessions are going to flow. I generally ask a question about your day/weekend and how you are feeling. Once the initial check in is completed we get to work on the goals that were set during the intake process. I know that sometimes life be lifeing, so I also create a space where my clients are able to talk about whatever it is that they would like to focus on.
My journey to mental healthcare
My little cousin was diagnosed with autism and I saw people come to the house and help her. When I moved to Texas I wanted to be one of those individuals. While I was working as the clinic I met an LPC who educated me on different topics. I ended up leaving the clinic and becoming a care coordinator working with both children and adults. I learned that I wanted to help people get to the root of their issue. I truly enjoy helping others and being apart of their story even if it is only during a season of their life.
