Hello, I'm Summer. Feeling safe is a human right! As a therapist, my role is to partner with you and affirm your experience while also challenging your internal dialogue. How do you speak to yourself when no one is around? Let's partner together to change your internal monologue. You are the expert in your life. Whether you are experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, low self-worth, or grief and loss, I would like to be invited to navigate this journey with you in a space where you can remove the mask and show up as your most authentic self. In 2012, I graduated with a Master's Degree in Social Work. Now, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals experiencing trauma, including intimate partner violence. I primarily work with trauma survivors, including childhood sexual trauma and intimate partner violence. I aim to offer a culturally competent experience, knowing that culture is more than racial identity. I have primarily done couples therapy with clients who identify with the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I focus on working with adults and couples using an eclectic therapeutic approach. I utilize cognitive and narrative therapy to challenge thinking errors and the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves. I utilize many Gottman principles when working with couples. I strive to create a safe and affirming space where you feel comfortable sharing your innermost thoughts.
