Getting to know Susan Block

I understand relationships are not easy. When your relationship goes through a rough patch or your relationship is in crisis I am here to help. My therapeutic style is warm, nonjudgmental, engaging and collaborative. My greatest passion is assisting couples in building a strong and solid foundation in their relationship. I offer state of the art, researched-based counseling in a relaxed and confidential environment. I specialize in working with couples to decrease and manage conflict, enhance friendship, deepen intimacy, and build and repair trust. I have completed the Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Gottman’s Affair Recovery & Couples in Crisis Training as well as EFT and utilize these methods when working with couples. These method improve couple’s communication, connection, and friendship. These methods also help couples manage conflict, repair trust, achieve empathy, and build more compassion for one another. In addition to working with couples, I also works with individuals who desire personal growth and want to take back control over their lives. I want to be a trusted partner in my client’s journey and want to make them feel hopeful and remind them that they deserve happiness and peace. I have made it my mission to help couples and individuals put the pieces back together and build a more meaningful and fulfilling future. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University in 1997 and completed my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2004. Im also an active member of The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). In my free time I enjoy all that South Florida has to offer. I love a swim in the ocean, lounging by the pool, a comedy show and strolling through an outdoor Farmer’s Market. I believe in the mind/body connection and meditate regularly as well as stay physically fit by running, practicing yoga and circuit training at the gym.
