I have described my experience to my close friends as something I’ve never experienced before in therapy. For our first meeting, Susan quickly assumed that my diagnosis was incorrect, and told me that I caused my own anxiety. She was quick to make assumptions about my partner and I, joked about my faith that she wouldn’t *spew Bible verses at me so why did I chose her*, and made us both feel so uncomfortable by her bold accusations rather than leading with listening. We both open to critical feedback, but within the first 4 minutes, she cut us off with her prognosis of what was happening. That is not therapy. We were appalled by her blunt, reckless approach, and hope no one ever experiences a session like that again. She has a lot of experience with abuse, drug addiction, and homelessness, but a normal couple looking for therapy - she isn’t the choice to make as a counselor.

Susan is very kind but she will not remember things you tell her so you do have to repeat yourself constantly. Even seeing her for 4 weeks consecutively. VERY VERY CBT focused, almost in a generic way. I briefly asked about other therapy methods & she immediately ignored the question & went on about how great CBT is. I wouldn’t recommend her to any POC. She doesn’t really have any social awareness of POC & their cultural issues. She is very kind but most certainly was not a fit for me.

Susan is AMAZING! I have already recommended her to a few of my friends. I've had a lot of therapists throughout the years but none have been as helpful as Susan, she rocks!

Susan is the best listener, and she gives great insight and advice on situations in my life. She is never judgmental about my life, and seems to always relate to my problems I am having. I look forward to our weekly sessions together!
