What should a new client know about working with you?

I have a very eclectic therapeutic background which allows me to practice many different types of therapy.  The benefit is that rather than forcing a client into a specific therapeutic approach, I get to know the client and what they are looking to achieve in therapy, and I match my therapeutic approach to my client’s needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The most important thing is that my clients feel comfortable with me. They need to know that I know what I am talking about, that I can help them with their problems and that throughout the process, they will never be judged. In the first few sessions, we map out the issues that my clients are dealing with and discuss the therapeutic approaches that we will use to help them move through the issues and move forward with their lives. I am very involved with my clients in their sessions. They are never alone in what they are dealing with, I am right there with them. I ask questions, give feedback, provide tremendous emotional support and together we come up with effective and workable solutions to their problems.
