Getting to know Susan Polo
Do you feel like you just "can't anymore," torn between life's happenings and feeling overwhelmed? Have you had moments when you wished you could be better? Do better? I empower individuals to overcome these thoughts and realities brought on by depression, anxiety, trauma, or just life. This is normal.
I strongly believe in our own gift and strength to push through adversities—resilience. We are human, and it's normal to hurt and struggle, but it is also within us to get back up. We can work together to carve out or refine the strengths already within you to propel you toward your goals. I use a person-centered approach and draw from many modalities to best fit your needs, including CBT, EMDR, and EFT.
Considering therapy is brave. Having that first session is a milestone. Overcoming and functioning through challenges is the goal! I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Barry University and am glad to work together through what you’re experiencing. I am here for you.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am a compassionate and emphatic practitioner that truly believes in having a safe space. I believe we all have the power to heal and grow through our challenges, it's just that at times we require guidance and assistance, and that's absolutely okay! Therefore, I will ask questions, explore much further, and perhaps get to those uncomfortable topics, but those are the bumps in the road.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
