My passion is helping clients learn to adjust to life's challenges and stressors, learn to cope with depression and anxiety, as well as how to overcome traumatic events in our lives. What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients can expect the treatment to be individualized and specific to their wants and needs. Each person's emotions, trauma, and pain is specific to them and therefore the treatment will be specific to them. I believe strongly in the positive outcomes associated with telling your story and I will give you the space to do that in a safe, nonjudgmental place. I am here to walk with you on your path to healing. I believe that life has a way of directing us to our own path and mine directed me to Social Work. Since beginning in this field, I have been drawn to trauma therapy and exploring the effects various traumas can have on our lives. I have worked closely with Veterans, local law enforcement, fire and rescue, other 1st responder and other professionals and know all to well the pain that you face every day and often times you feel you don't have a safe place to share that. I also have worked with domestic violence victims and those of sex trafficking who also often feel they have no safe place to share their pain. I am your safe place.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe that one of the most important aspects of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. I use a client centered, strengths-based approach to build rapport, establish a positive bond with clients and I believe you are the expert in your own life. I specialize in helping clients learn to regulate their emotions, behaviors, cope with anxiety, depression, heal from trauma and begin on the path to healing.I challenge my clients to get to the deep things which sometimes means noticing the trauma they are feeling in their body. Since they are connected, what we feel in our brain, we feel in our body and vice versa. This may be difficult for some but also healing as well. Processing in this way has helped many of my clients to feel less stressed on the job and in their personal lives. along with navigating other life-altering challenges. I bring a deep passion to my work, rooted in my own experiences and commitment to supporting mental health in our community. If you've been feeling anxious, sad, irritable, having trouble sleeping or noticing that you're using other things to change the way you feel, you're in the right place. I believe in meeting my clients where they are and believe you know yourself better than anyone else. I will be here to walk beside you on this journey.
