“She's provided an extremely safe environment for me to voice my insecurities and frustrations with myself while being able to provide me with practical steps I can take to work on those issues. She also makes me feel heard as the way that she responds to my problems is not dismissive and shows that she not only listened to what I was saying, but was further able to understand what I meant when I couldn't articulate properly.”

Getting to know Susana Valdez

Hi there, I'm Susana! Hello, my name is Susana Valdez, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Fresno. I work with individuals and specialize in adults who may be experiencing difficult life events, challenges, or transitions. I practice a strength-based approach to therapy, focusing on each individual's strengths and capacity for resiliency while taking into consideration how difficult it is to make life changes. I am skilled in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, and Crisis Intervention. I have helped individuals who are coping with various concerns, such as addiction, anxiety, depression, perinatal and postpartum depression, trauma, and PTSD. I have also worked with adults who experience situational stressors such as relationship conflicts, bereavement, or loss. Through a supportive and confidential environment, I assist clients in reducing emotional distress, identifying and understanding problematic behaviors, and developing appropriate tools to improve their overall quality of life. I strive to create a client-centered, empathetic, and judgment-free environment that fosters insight, acceptance, and self-compassion.
