Seeking mental health help can be intimidating, so I congratulate you on your bravery and desire for change. I work with adults of all ages who are experiencing varying issues, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, self-esteem, women's health, and LGBT+. My approach I use several different modalities in therapy to address problems and find the approach that is best tailored to meet your needs as a client. Together we can challenge moods, thoughts, and behaviors in order to change what is not working in your life. Change occurs when you are ready and willing to do the work!! My focus As a licensed professional counselor, I work with adults to address a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. I have years of experience with marginalized populations, including minorities and LGBTQ, and have a strong desire to facilitate growth and change in navigating life's many challenges. My communication style I am passionate about creating a safe space where my clients can be seen, heard, and validated. I provide open, honest, and caring communication and feedback with all of my clients. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into counseling was just that: a journey! After several different majors, I found "my place" after just 1 course in psychology. I began to see the beauty and grace in humans and our incredible ability to face adversity, challenge, and change the course of our lives with the help of therapy. My goals for you My job as a therapist is to provide evidence-based treatment, which allows us to track progress and evaluate which modalities would be best suited for you to reach your goals in therapy. My first session with you Our first session will be a chance for us to get to know each other, and it will allow me to gather information about your goals, dreams, and desires for change. I understand that this first session can be intimidating, and I will do my best to put you at ease!
