Getting to know Suzanne Taluy

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and an IFS-trained EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist. I am also a Reiki II Practitioner and utilize spirituality and holistic techniques in my practice. I founded Embrace Psychotherapy in 2019, and my mission has been to provide services to those suffering from trauma that are transformative. My treatment approach involves EMDR, IFS, EFT, Spirituality, Somatic Techniques, and CBT. My specialties are Trauma, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Adjustment Disorders, and Life Transitions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is mostly trauma-focused, and I rely on intensive therapy techniques that go deep. Due to the sensitive nature of my work, I take special care to build a supportive and trusting relationship with each of my clients. It is important that clients feel safe and comfortable. In regular talk therapy sessions, I am the client's lead, meaning that I allow the client to set the pace and decide what direction they would like to go. I am very attentive and ask a lot of intuitive questions that help clients understand themselves and explore emotions and behaviors. I will also provide guidance as needed. I enjoy the work that I do, and it is really important to give each client something they can take away from our work together that can help transform their lives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our initial session is an assessment where you get to tell your story. During this assessment, I am collecting information about your presenting issue, treatment history, and background. During this time, we will establish treatment goals and a plan. The follow-up sessions are about putting the plan and goals into action no matter what approach we choose to go with.
