Syeda Kazmi

Syeda Kazmi

Psychotherapist
211 Broadway, Ste 207, Lynbrook, NY
I’m a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to creating compassionate, culturally responsive spaces for healing. I work with children, teens, and adults. I am especially passionate about supporting individuals within BIPOC communities, including immigrants and those from South Asian and Muslim backgrounds. These identities reflect parts of my own lived experience, and I strive to ensure clients feel seen, understood, and empowered throughout their journey. My therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including DBT, TF-CBT, ACT, IFS, somatic therapy, and emotionally focused therapy. When working with children, I often incorporate play therapy and art-based interventions to support emotional expression and healing. I also integrate Eastern philosophies of healing with Western modalities to honor mind, body, and spirit. Clients working with me can expect a holistic and affirming experience centered in cultural humility, authenticity, and mutual trust. I believe every person carries innate wisdom, and I am here to help you reconnect with it as you move toward meaningful change. Outside of the therapy room, I speak Urdu and Hindi and understand Punjabi. I bring my full self to the work I do as a South Asian, Muslim American, and Brooklyn-raised woman. I feel deeply honored to walk alongside clients as they reclaim their voice and story. I look forward to supporting you.
