“Sylvia took the time to understand me. She knows what makes me tick and how my struggles are impacted by my approach and thought process. She's helped evolve my coping skills and works hard to give me perspective on things. I've never felt comfortable opening up about subjects of a sexual nature before and it's helped shape advice. Simply put, she's the best therapist I've ever had. She's pulled me back from the brink multiple times and I feel genuinely cared for when I'm in session with her.”

Getting to know Sylvia Currie

Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Florida Gulf Coast University and have been practicing for over 10 years. I work with all adults, with a special focus on those navigating life changes such as coping with a new or changing diagnosis, reclaiming your identity, grief, or managing depression and anxiety. I want you to know that the time we spend together is for YOU, so our sessions will focus on what you want to talk about. Therapy can be hard work, but I aim to make it easier for you. Let’s work together!

What should a new client know about working with you?

That they are not broken. A deeper understanding of yourself and how or why you respond the way you do. Insight into choices that you make. I'm not here to change you, I'm here to support you on whatever journey you're currently on.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I've always been an anxious person and even though I've had a lot of prior therapists it can still be hard for me to open up to a new person. It's even harder for me to do so in an online/distance setting. And Sylvia has been someone who has really helped me to communicate with her about what's going on in my life and in my head. She's very affirming and pleasant to talk to while still helping me figure out how I want to tackle my challenges. I think she is great for someone like me who tends to be withdrawn or introverted.
Sylvia is very comfortable to talk to.
She strikes the balance between letting me get things out and giving great insight. In just a few sessions, she's stumped my logic in a good way to open my mind. So happy she's my therapist.
