Psychotherapist
CA
Hi, I'm Sylvia Martinez, LPCC 15122. I hold an MEd in Counseling from Azusa Pacific University. My approach is recognizing that you are the expert in you. Together, we can set goals or work on whatever you need support with at the moment. My approach I use CBT, DBT, inner child work, solution-focused, and person-centered approaches. My focus I work with families, teens, and adults on issues such as anxiety, depression, loss, abuse, PTSD, ADHD, and more. I also offer Christian support in sessions if requested. You can love Jesus and have a therapist too. My communication style I try to help people feel comfortable talking about whatever is on their mind. You don't need to be perfect-I'm not. Whatever is happening, I do my best to walk alongside you in your journey with support, coping skills to try, and possible solutions. My journey to mental healthcare I love helping people find self-acceptance, improve relationships, use their voices, build lives they love, and end generational trauma. These are all things I also work toward personally, so being able to help others in their journeys is a great honor to me. My goals for you Goals are great, but sometimes things happen and we just need to talk about those things too! Ultimately, my hope is that you'll walk away from sessions feeling seen and with greater insight and self-compassion. My first session with you The first session will be a review of your current issues, risk assessment, past issues, and family history, along with some basics on goals. This helps me get to know you now, where you're coming from, and what you want to gain from therapy. Hope to meet you in session!
