Getting to know Sylwia Termena
Sometimes you go through an experience that completely changes your life, and sometimes all the little stresses add up to one big obstacle. Either way, nothing feels as good as it used to, and you constantly find yourself trapped in the past or worrying about the future. We deserve lives free of constant emotional turmoil, and therapy can be a way to process unwanted memories, emotions, and thoughts. I won't promise you that the entire process of therapy will be easy, and I won't tell you that I can fix you; you are not a problem to be solved. What I can do is move alongside you as you shift toward the life you want.
I specialize in working with those who struggle with anxiety disorder, mood disorder, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, aggression, substance use, personality disorder, and psychosis. I use a combination of self-reflection and skills building to help you align with your core values and reduce unwanted behaviors or emotions.
I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively.
I truly enjoy building a genuine connection with my clients. I will work collaboratively with you to help you become the best version of yourself. You do not have to be alone in this process, and I will be here every step of the way. I believe everyone has the answers within, and sometimes you just need someone to help you unlock the door.
Please note that I am not in network with any Medicaid or Medicare policies. I am only in network with BCBS PPO and United Healthcare and offer self-pay rates. Please only schedule an appointment if you are a self-pay or BCBS PPO/United Healthcare client. I do NOT accept any HMO policies. Any in-person appointment can be switched to a virtual appointment and vice versa. Please let me know what works best for you. Thank you!
