*This provider does not accept any Medicaid or Medicare plans* I know you're more than your story, pain, joy, social identity, and experiences. As a South Asian immigrant, I proactively advocate for my clients both inside and outside the therapy room. I will show up for you if you need help involving family or partners in therapy sessions. I connect one session to the next with journaling prompts or by exploring big feelings during the week. I also ensure sessions don't end abruptly, taking the last few minutes for grounding and mindfulness exercises to help clients feel less overwhelmed when they leave. I use evidence-based practices alongside building genuine connections with my clients. I help them discover their intrinsic strengths and innate ability to explore who they are and what changes they want for themselves. I encourage clients to see how their challenges connect to the broader social context. Using a trauma-informed lens, I identify both big T and small t traumas and support clients in exploring how these traumas manifest in their emotions, behaviors, and thoughts. There’s no perfect time to start therapy. It doesn’t require a major crisis - it can begin in ordinary moments when you feel stuck. Let's start the journey of empowerment, self-acceptance, healing, effective communication, and a better quality of life together. As endorsed by Laurie Parsons on Psychology Today: “Tabeer's cultural background bring a unique and refreshing twist to the therapeutic space. She often serves a population underserved within the mental health community. Her kindness and lightheartedness allow for deeper, more meaningful connections with her peers and clients.” One of Tabeer's patients said: “Having a great experience. Tabeer is excellent.” Tabeer Qazi has a Master of Social Work from New York University. Tabeer is a Licensed Social Worker, LSW 44SL07029700 at Cerebral. Supervised by Brittany Williams, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW 44SC06025800.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My ideal populations are ages 14-50 yrs. I enjoy working with teenagers who are struggling with social and identity crisis or safety planning for suicide risk. I enjoy working with couples and family units with all types of issues (trauma, abuse, sibling or marital conflict). I am still on my way to learning how to be neuro-affirming for my neurodivergent clients. I am also a social justice and anti-oppression advocate working towards decolonizing therapy work for my POC and BIPOC clients.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At the core of it all we are looking for genuine connections. I meet my clients where they are at by listening and attuning to what they say in their gestures, their quirks, and their silence. They hold the ultimate power to move forward, while I equip and help empower them with the necessary tools. I come into the sessions with the belief that my client and I will both learn something new. Most importantly, my clients are not just the painters of their canvases, they also need environmental reinforcements to bring about their paintings to life. Therapy can help people reach their rawness in the most beautiful way. It can help in creating a consistent sense of determination and resilience. It not only enhances relationships with others but also improves ways in which a client shows up for themselves. My clients will feel empowered and have an improved understanding of their feelings and thoughts and how they are interconnected with some psychological symptoms.
