Getting to know Tabitha Somers

My therapeutic approach is person-centered and strengths-based, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and others, depending on each client’s unique needs. I work with teens ages 13+, couples, and adults of all ages, with specialties that include addiction & recovery, life transitions, trauma, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and stress management. At the foundation of my work is a passion for supporting individuals through life’s challenges, with the belief that we were never meant to carry life’s burdens alone. I am a Resident in Counseling.

My role is to partner with you as you navigate life’s complexities—offering a space where you can feel safe, uncensored, and empowered to explore your experiences and emotions at your own pace.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We begin by getting to know your story, identifying your goals, and understanding what you hope to gain from counseling. From there, we collaborate to create a plan tailored to your needs, using evidence-based techniques and approaches that fit you best. Throughout our work together, we check in on progress, adjust strategies as needed, and focus on helping you build the tools, insight, and confidence needed to achieve lasting, meaningful change.
