Getting to know Taij Johnson

Spending 13 years as a Protective Services Social Worker. Obtaining my Masters in Counseling from Webster University and being in private practice for 9 years my approach is very client centered. I utilize many modalities including but not limited to : cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, trauma focused, solution focused, humanistic, and rational-emotive therapies. Making every effort to meet the individuals that I counsel mentally and emotionally where they are. Addressing specific needs to help them reach their peace and potential.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am committed to creating and affirming a collaborative space of healing for people of all cultures, colors, creeds and identities. My goal is to help people feel comfortable in their skin by building self-compassion, awareness, and empowerment. I admire the courage individuals bring to therapy, whether they face everyday life stress or extreme trauma.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In sessions my goal is to explore, validate, share and offer a different perspective on life. I strive to offer personalized and tailored sessions using an eclectic blend of proven modalities to meet specific needs, and make sure my clients feel seen and heard.
