Psychotherapist
CA
Talia Chanoff is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Their CA license number is 160698, and their current employer is Suzanne Adams. Talia earned a Master's in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I believe that as humans, we strive for safety, fulfillment, and contentment in our lives. We each have deep, inherent wells of wisdom and resources within us that help us move toward these systems of balance, but sometimes they get clouded or lost along the way. My hope is to listen to your story and, through deep trust and relationship building, reacquaint you with your power while honoring the systems that protected you during times of dis-ease and difficulty. Together, let's allow the parts of you that have been hidden as means of self-protection to come up for air and reveal themselves while supporting you on the path back home to your most authentic self. I specialize in working with folks struggling with chronic illness, anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse and harm reduction, life transitions, and stress management.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I offer a compassionate therapeutic space to process whatever is arising for you in your life. I specialize in working with folks navigating chronic illness, specifically autoimmune and gastrointestinal disease. I work from a holistic lens, meaning there is a variety of ways that I approach therapy and I will tailor our work together to fit your unique needs. I aim to co-create a safe and easeful space to provide compassionate support and unconditional acceptance no matter what is going on in your life. I have extensive training and experience in humanistic, relational, trauma-informed, psychodynamic, and somatic frameworks. I am also certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which provides concrete tools to cope with difficult and painful emotions and experiences. In my somatic work, I acknowledge that our physical and energetic bodies are powerfully connected to our emotional world and I can help you locate the inherent knowledge that your body holds through various tools and practices.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am available for a free 20 minute consultation call. If we decide we would like to move forward in working together, we will engage in an intake process that helps me get to know you better. I am relational and collaborative in my approach, so together in our sessions we will find the tools what works best for you. I can support with therapeutic tool using somatics, art, creativity, talk therapy, and behavioral interventions.
