What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is encouraging, direct, and compassion-focused. I specialize in working with people who have had trauma in their lives, whether in childhood, within a relationship, or due to prolonged stress or an isolated experience. I also work with young adults, relationship struggles, stress, anxiety, and those impacted by family/partner's addictions. I've received extensive training in childhood and developmental trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, narcissistic abuse recovery, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy for emotion regulation and distress tolerance. I work with people who struggle with depression or anxiety, often related to difficult relationship issues with partners or family, or the ways we deal with (or try to avoid dealing with) past trauma. Many of my clients find not only a sense of relief in finally making sense of and putting words to their experiences, but in finding real and practical ways to care for themselves and move forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our sessions will feel conversational! I will be listening and supporting you, and paying attention to what feels difficult in your life and how you show up in your relationships. I will listen without judgment and also challenge you to help you make changes. That may be through helping you work through traumatic experiences, pointing out relationship patterns or dynamics that aren’t serving you, helping you develop a self-care practice, or learning to communicate more effectively. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
