Psychotherapist

"Hello, I'm Tami. I utilize talk therapy, offering active listening, reflections, and questions to assist you in exploring the causes of your distress. My goal is to help you identify the possible sources of your struggles and explore ways to bring closure, forgiveness, or change. I believe that meaningful and lasting healing often results from seeking God’s direction through biblical principles, and we can incorporate prayer into our sessions if you desire. I strive to be caring, non-judgmental, personable, honest, and direct. Together, we can build skills using a holistic approach, addressing the spiritual, emotional, cognitive, and social aspects of your life. I enjoy encouraging people to develop a unique personal vision and explore their purpose. One approach I often use is cognitive behavioral therapy, which involves challenging dysfunctional and damaging beliefs that impact your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I address many mental health needs, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, other mood disorders, and adjustment disorders (coping with major life changes). Faith-based areas of growth we can explore include forgiveness, purpose, identity, and grief. I earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership with a minor in communication studies from Wright State University, and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the same institution. I have also been pursuing education for biblical practical field ministry fall of 2023- spring 2025. Throughout my career, I have worked in community mental health and addiction treatment. On a personal note, I was a single parent for many years, and I have a deep desire to encourage others dealing with life's difficulties. It is an honor to help someone recognize their value and the unique identity God has given them. I have worked with individuals with developmental disabilities and understand the strain of caring for others with special needs.
